Senior Accounting Manager

TalentAlly We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our $100 million division. This role will support our US Controller and help manage an accounting team of five, including accountants, senior accountants, and an accounting manager located in offices across the US and Asia. The Senior Accounting Manager will be based out of our downtown Chicago office and will work on a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Support the US Controller:
Assist the US Controller in overseeing the accounting operations of the division, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
Team Management:
Help manage and mentor the accounting team, including accountants, senior accountants, and the accounting manager, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Drive initiatives to streamline processes and improve accounting line support and deliver on responsibilities.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations.
Internal Controls:
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with other divisional accounting departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
Annual Audit Support:
Support the annual audit process, coordinating as needed with internal departments, external auditors, and ensuring timely completion.
Special Projects:
Participate in and lead special projects as assigned by the US Controller.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 8-12 years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or accounting operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role as accounting manager. Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Experience with intercompany transactions. Experience with Maconomy is a plus. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Experience with multi-location operations is a plus. Judgment, integrity, and trustworthiness are vital for handling confidential information. Experience in a global organization, focusing on identifying and implementing end-to-end process and driving change across multiple departments.
Compensation Range
The US base salary for this position ranges from $120,000/year to $160,000/year. Our compensation range for this role is inclusive of several US geographic markets. APCO targets an employee's pay within this range to be based on several factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, internal equity and/or geographic location.
