Chartwells Higher Education is re-inventing the on-campus dining experience. The Food Service Quality Assurance Manager position at The Citadel in Charleston, SC focuses on overall operational safety, food safety, and workplace safety education within a college dining account. The manager ensures compliance with safety standards and maintains strong relationships with employees, guests, university partners, and other departments. Vendor compliance and inventory accuracy are also part of the role. Job Summary

You will be responsible for the overall safety of the account and for promoting a safety-first culture. Key Responsibilities

Perform unit level surveillance safety audits for multiple areas. Identify deficiencies and implement new strategies. Provide written feedback to unit managers regarding observations and findings. Attend safety meetings, workshops, and events to address safety issues. Lead readiness for Health Division Food Service Inspections and 3rd party Food Safety Audits. Attend safety management team meetings and conduct Safety Training. Manage Food Allergen Compliance. Develop and maintain Food Safety Plans. Assist unit managers with implementation of Compass safety Standards and Solutions. Lead QA training with associates and management involvement. Verify that safety systems are functioning daily. Act as flexible safety specialists and first responders as needed. Contribute to organization-wide guidelines, protocols, playbooks, and procurement/supply chain documentation. Communicate and execute local/regional sourcing and procurement strategies to support program goals. Assist with management of the annual procurement budget and vendor base. Preferred Qualifications

B.S. degree in food technology, food science, or related field and/or relevant experience. 5+ years of directly related experience in Quality Assurance and Food Safety. Experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or related fields. ServSafe Certification. Previous health permitting, QA and Safety Training experience; Certified Registered Sanitarian (or REHS/RS) preferred. Strong understanding of FSMA. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook). Benefits and Additional Information
