2pm - 10:30pm Dessert Holdings is looking for a
QA Supervisor (2nd Shift)
to join our team based in
Aurora, CO . This individual will be responsible for the supervision of all daily production floor activities as it relates to quality. This position will coordinate quality activities and provide leadership to ensure an effective food safety and quality management system is maintained. Provide technical support with an emphasis on customer expectations, continuous improvement opportunities, and productivity requirements. This position is responsible for the supervision of all daily production floor activities as it relates to quality and QA technicians. This position is also responsible for understanding related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP to ensure safety and quality of products. The typical hiring range for this role is $60,000 to $75,000 annually and is based on several factors such as education, work experience, skills, certifications, location, etc. In addition to pay, Dessert Holdings offers benefits such as a choice of comprehensive medical plans, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and retirement contribution to all eligible employees.
Key Responsibilities
Supervises daily activities of QA Technicians to ensure all QA tasks are carried out as designed. Provides guidance regarding quality and food safety issues to Operations and QA teams. Coach, train, and support the QA team to support business growth. Communicates daily with FSQA Technicians regarding production schedule and QA issues. Trains FSQA Technicians and performs new employee orientations. Maintains inventory of QC/lab supplies and coordinates training from suppliers or new equipment purchased. Works with QA Manager to discipline workers as appropriate. Reviews and organizes operational paperwork on a daily basis. Supports the execution of internal and third-party audits (e.g., customer, regulatory, GFSI) and participates in inspections; analyzes results and identifies deficiencies. Supports production managers, supervisors and leads during formula changes and/or product issues. Assists with the activities of the company hold, trace, and recall program. Responsible for summarizing Hold reports. Assists in familiarizing employees with plant operations as part of company safety programs. Assumes some responsibilities of the QA Manager in their absence; serves as backup to the Quality Manager. Performs assignments in accordance with GMPs, policies and procedures. Supports ops and other support teams in reducing foreign object contamination. Oversees product releases. Displays appropriate work ethics and a positive influence on the production floor. Performs daily product review and customer complaint reviews. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
B.S. degree or equivalent experience in a food manufacturing environment Previous experience in a food production Quality Assurance department 2+ years of supervisory experience Flexible schedule including working weekends, as necessary Excellent verbal and written communication skills Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Reliable transportation Ability to work in a team environment Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas Follows production dress code standards and maintains good personal hygiene
