Overview Positions in this function are responsible for the management and manipulation of mostly structured data, with a focus on building business intelligence tools, conducting analysis to distinguish patterns and recognize trends, performing normalization operations and assuring data quality. Depending on the specific role and business line, responsibilities may include creating specifications to bring data into a common structure, creating product specifications and models, developing data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights, and presenting recommendations for use across the company. Roles may partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization. Other roles may involve producing and managing the delivery of activity and value analytics to external stakeholders and clients. Team members typically use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data. This function focuses on descriptive and regression-based analytics and leverages subject matter expert views in the design of analytics and algorithms.
Primary Responsibilities
Use Informatica PowerCenter to Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) source data from agency sources, applying transformations, making corrections to source files, and adding new fields to the EDW via the change request process
Automate the staging of data by scheduling scripts to run at optimal times to enhance system performance and efficiency
Create, maintain, and support an ETL/Informatica architecture and system environment for development and production
Implement ETL jobs by creating mappings, mapplets, sessions, and workflows
Work with ETL transformations including Aggregator, Expression, Filter, Router, Sequence Generator, Update Strategy, Joiner, Rank, Source Qualifier, Lookup and Sorter
Schedule and monitor ETL/Informatica jobs in development, system testing, and production environments
Develop proactive processes for monitoring capacity and performance tuning
Provide support and advisory input to development teams on technical issues
Troubleshoot production support issues post-release deployment and propose solutions
Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and scripts used to create data marts in Teradata
Participate in project discussions to document and recommend alternative technical solutions or requirements
Participate in unit, integration, and system testing
Maintain effective communication and relationships with project stakeholders
Learn new technologies as needed to perform job duties effectively
Provide status updates and meet deliverables to leadership and customers
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Informatica PowerCenter / ETL experience
5+ years of complex SQL and performance tuning experience
5+ years of experience with RDBMS databases – Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server
5+ years of experience with front-end data warehousing or similar processing, including extracting data for large files from various sources, cleansing data, and preparing data for loading into a data warehouse
Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite and Visio for written communication, status reports, technical and procedure documentation, and stakeholder communication
Experience deploying program changes to production
Experience with State Medicaid / Medicare / Healthcare applications
Proven excellent verbal/written communication skills, client-facing experience, teamwork, and mentoring abilities
Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
ETL/Informatica or SQL or BI or Teradata certification
Experience with Cognos
Experience with SAS or other statistical reporting tools for large-volume databases
Experience working in Agile environments
Experience with Data Warehouse technologies in ETL/data integration, BI, and relational/multi-dimensional databases

Compensation and Benefits Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. In addition to salary, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution are available (subject to eligibility). Salary range for this role is $89,900 to $160,600 annually for full-time employment. We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
