Job Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Process Utilities Engineer II
to join our dynamic team. This intermediate-level role focuses on the design and implementation of process utility equipment, systems, and supporting facility infrastructure. You will work closely with Lead and Senior Engineers, contributing to multiple project tasks and owning defined scopes such as unit operations, systems, or facility areas. You’ll be expected to understand project schedules and budgets, and develop work plans that support timely and high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Develop engineering calculations from first principles when templates are unavailable.
Create construction drawing packages and write specifications for projects of limited complexity under supervision.
Support construction activities including RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and progress reporting.
Participate in squad checks to ensure coordinated, high-quality deliverables.
Mentor Designer I staff in translating engineering designs into Revit models.
Contribute to advanced deliverables such as:
Basis of Design reports
Hazardous Material Summaries
Water/Waste Balances
Heat Transfer Calculations
Simulation Output Analysis
Process Descriptions
Equipment and Hygienic Piping Specifications
Room Cards
Minimum Qualifications
ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Bioprocess Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or design firm setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with industry regulations and local building codes.
Preferred Qualifications
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam registration or completion.
High proficiency in engineering calculations related to fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and material/energy balances.
Experience conducting field surveys and resolving field issues.
Ability to lead and interface with clients and external partners.
Proficiency in cross-discipline coordination and collaboration with vendors and construction partners.
Skilled in 2D/3D design platforms (AutoCAD, Revit).
Programming proficiency is a plus.
