Join to apply for the Pharmacist (PRN) role at Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless. Since 1985, AHCH has dedicated its mission exclusively to providing services to people experiencing homelessness.
At AHCH, the Pharmacist monitors and maintains day‑to‑day operations of the onsite pharmacy, oversees the pharmacy team, and provides guidance to cross‑disciplinary staff on pharmaceutical needs.
This is a PRN position covering employee vacations, sick days, etc., with availability Monday through Friday (estimated 2‑4 8hr shifts per month, up to 1‑2 weeks at a time).
Duties & Responsibilities
Work with other disciplines toward integrative approaches to patient care in a pharmaceutical context.
Dispense medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals according to professional standards and state and federal legal requirements.
Ensure QI/QA and compliance in Pharmacy.
Maintain ongoing program development for Pharmacy.
Responsible for budget management for Pharmacy.
Provide guidance to the Chief Clinical Officer on AHCH Pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to thrive in a complex non‑profit healthcare setting.
Ability to work with peers to lead change, high performance, and innovation.
Proven track record effectively managing a Pharmacy.
Ability to have long‑term strategic vision balanced with addressing day‑to‑day issues.
Be a mission‑driven leader with a preference to work in a values‑based, patient‑centered organization.
Strong desire to work in an integrated/cross‑disciplinary team model.
Experience working with an EHR and/or Pharmacy software.
PharmD license or ability to practice in New Mexico as a Pharmacist.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist.
Preferred Qualifications
Pharmacist Clinician license in New Mexico.
Minimum 4 years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist.
Understanding of Medicaid billing.
Previous experience with underserved populations, SMI/CMI, substance abuse disorders.
Previous experience in an FQHC or community health organization.
Bilingual Spanish/English.
