Overview

The Vice President of Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the property's day-to-day operations, with a strong emphasis on driving profitability through team member engagement and exceptional service delivery. This role has direct oversight of facility maintenance and security, while collaborating with leaders of the corporation’s centers of excellence to accomplish Seneca Gaming Corporation’s strategic initiatives. All responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and corporate objectives. Responsibilities

Direct the day-to-day operation of the property to achieve performance metrics as set by the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Leadership. Drive profitability through delivering on the brand promise by consistently focusing on the entire guest experience, including meeting and exceeding world-class service level standards. This includes addressing guest service issues and creating VIP experiences for guests and members of the Seneca Nation. Lead property operations to be the most effective and efficient while maintaining team member engagement and guest service. Foster a positive and engaging work environment by living company values, developing talent, and contributing to hiring, development, and promotion of Seneca Nation Members. Maintain and improve the property with a focus on revenue generation, and manage labor and expenses to meet financial goals. Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (Human Resources, Marketing, Security, Finance, Gaming, Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Guest Service) to gain market share and execute on all SGC business objectives and strategic initiatives. Represent the company effectively within the community and with the Seneca Nation; serve as a role model for employees and the community. Promote a professional work environment, set high standards of integrity and respect, and comply with all policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and related laws. Standard Requirements

Develop, mentor, and train enrolled Seneca Nation members for future senior management positions within the company. Oversee administrative matters and ensure HR is consulted as appropriate. Establish effective communication routines to ensure all levels of employees receive the appropriate information at the appropriate time. Ensure effective recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, evaluation, coaching, discipline, terminations, and other personnel-related issues. Ensure effective maintenance, security, and cleanliness of all property facilities. Lead and coordinate capital projects, renovations, and operational initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to guest experience. Ensure the property adheres to all company policies and internal controls. Practice, support, and promote the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Seneca Gaming Corporation. Prepare the annual budget and monitor to ensure attainment of goals; manage labor and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage while minimizing overtime. Maintain a strong network of contacts throughout the industry to facilitate information gathering. Be knowledgeable of industry trends, new technology, and practices as they relate to the area(s) of responsibility. Complete required SGC Training programs within assigned timeframes. Attend necessary meetings to stay informed, including company and community meetings. Oversee an operation that is 24/7 and may require up to 60 hours per week or more; work weeks may include 6 or 7 days; on-call and 24/7 accessibility may be required. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements

Education/Experience

Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment. Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent education/work experience in lieu of degree; experience in lieu of degree is in addition to the minimum years of experience requirement. Broad knowledge of the operations of a casino environment is required. Minimum of ten (10) years of property operations management required; seven (7) of those years in a director level or above capacity required. Experience leading and coaching strong customer service and continuous improvement initiatives. Previous experience managing capital projects or maintenance budgets required. Experience fostering a positive and engaging work environment required. Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with people at all levels to drive successful relationships required. Experience creating, measuring, and coaching to KPIs. Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills required. Individual must be results- and goal-oriented. Must understand casino internal controls and requirements of the Compact with the State of New York. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record acceptable to the company’s liability insurer. Language Skills And Reasoning Ability

Ability to instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in subordinate employees. Physical Requirements And Work Environment

Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and effectively interact with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community. Salary

Starting rate: $1.00 Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education. All positions have varying minimum qualifications; in the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
