Brief Description Reports To: Corp. Controller / VP-Director of Finance/ CFO
Phoenix3 Collective is a rapidly expanding group of hospitality-driven companies. As part of a hyper-growth organization, the Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting across multiple entities. This position is ideal for a hands‑on professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys working closely with operations to ensure financial accuracy and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Record daily journal entries for revenue, expenses, accruals, and intercompany transactions across multiple entities.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts for all operating locations.
Reconcile POS systems (e.g., Toast, TouchPOS, Square) with accounting records to ensure accurate sales, discounts, comps, and void tracking.
Process and reconcile tip distributions, gratuities, and service charge allocations in compliance with labor and tax regulations.
Review vendor invoices, food & beverage purchase orders, and ensure proper cost coding to departments and locations.
Support inventory management and cost of goods sold (COGS) tracking, including periodic counts and variance analysis.
Maintain fixed asset schedules and prepare depreciation entries.
Assist with sales tax, occupancy tax, and other local hospitality-related filings.
Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for each concept within the collective.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis by location and concept.
Collaborate with operations teams, general managers, and leadership to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Participate in financial process improvements and implementation of scalable systems to support growth.
Contribute to building best-in-class accounting practices that meet the demands of a rapidly expanding organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
2–4 years of general accounting experience, preferably with multi-entity or multi-location organizations.
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar).
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data reconciliation).
Solid understanding of GAAP and accrual-based accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a hyper-growth, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, or similar.
Experience with consolidated financial reporting or intercompany accounting.
