Responsibilities

The Northeast Region Aviation Market Sector Lead will focus on client management and development, serving as a client manager and project manager for future assignments and pursuits with key clients in the area.

Identify and develop project opportunities, serve as a pursuit champion, and act as a resource for HDR pursuits.

Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large multi‑discipline or medium‑sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity.

Business Development: Serve as the Client Manager for selected key clients, develop and set Aviation Market Sector Strategy, promote marketing of HDR services, work with Regional Business Group Managers, lead client development processes, support pursuits, participate in industry associations, and identify key investments.

Staff Development: Coordinate with the Region’s Areas, support work‑sharing among departments, drive technical excellence, identify new technical services and products, and support recruiting and talent management.

Support to Operations: Facilitate cooperation, monitor market sector performance, manage staff workload, assist with contract review, promote QA/QC, facilitate lessons learned, take on project management assignments, and lead market‑sector planning.

Preferred Qualifications

15+ years of experience in aviation planning and/or engineering.

If an engineer, maintain engineering registration.

Establish relationships with NE Aviation clients.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, engineering, planning, or a related field.

A minimum of 10 years of industry experience.

Experienced in developing and managing strategic marketing programs for architecture, engineering, and/or planning services.

Experienced in managing a wide range of client relationships and pursuing programs and projects.

Experienced in staff development, recruitment, career path, and professional growth.

Experienced with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector.

Ability to work cooperatively with Area Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Director, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers, and Area Managers.
