Northeast Region Aviation Market Sector Leader
– You will serve as the overall lead across the Northeast Region by setting vision and direction for implementing the firm’s strategy to expand and provide aviation services to current and potential Aviation Market Sector Clients. You will facilitate development and implementation of Aviation Market Sector business strategies and operating plans across the firm in coordination with Aviation market sector leadership, area business group leadership, area operational leadership, client managers and business class directors. Business Development Responsibilities
Serve as the Client Manager for selected key clients within the area, and be active and visible in the industry. Help develop and set Aviation Market Sector Strategy for HDR. Promote the marketing and delivery of all HDR services to clients while working with client managers. Work with Regional Business Group Managers on development and delivery of area and market sector initiatives. Work with the client development leaders to drive client development and pursuit processes based on proven capture techniques. Support selected pursuits through client relationship development and/or development of strategy and participation in pursuit activities. Participate in industry associations and serve as a company role-model in business and community organizations at local, area and national levels. Identify key investments (acquisitions and technology) that will maintain or drive HDR into industry leadership positions. Develop relationships with industry counterparts in other consulting organizations. Develop relationships with senior leadership in key client organizations. Staff Development Responsibilities
Seek opportunities to enhance our practices to win new work and provide opportunities for staff growth and development. Lead and/or assist with identification and recruitment of prospective future market sector employees. Coordinate with the Region’s Areas and support work-sharing among departments. Drive technical excellence and coordinate technical staff to support the program and marketing efforts. Lead the Region in identifying needs and opportunities for new and improved technical services and products to maximize depth and efficiency of the practice. Coordinate staffing/recruiting plans for key hires with Region Business Group Directors and Area Management teams; identify resource gaps and support talent management and recruiting. Support to Operations
Assist the Regional Business Group Director and Area Business Group managers to deliver services within the market sector, including driving client management, monitoring and action on market sector profit and loss, ensuring project delivery, and supporting QA/QC programs. Facilitate cooperation and eliminate hurdles to success. Monitor market sector performance indicators and work with regional leadership to implement process improvements and leverage work sharing to meet or exceed goals. Be aware of staff workload and promote effective use of resources; assist in applying key staff/expertise to projects. Assist with contract review on key projects to ensure risk management, proper staffing, quality reviews and resolution of claims. Promote Quality Assurance/Quality Control and support marketing and project activities with technical expertise. Facilitate development and dissemination of lessons learned. Take on Project Management Assignments appropriate for this leadership role. Lead, from the Market Sector perspective, the annual planning process including materials for Trends & Drivers and Alignment processes. Qualifications

15+ years of experience in aviation planning and/or engineering. If an engineer, maintain engineering registration. Establish relationships with NE Aviation clients. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, planning or a related field A minimum of 10 years of industry experience Experience in development and management of strategic marketing programs for architecture, engineering and/or planning services Experience in development and management of a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits Experience in overall staff development including recruiting, career path and professional growth Experience with industry associations and maintaining a visible profile in the market sector Ability to work cooperatively with Area Market Sector Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Director, Area Business Group Managers, Area Marketing Managers and Area Managers Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture What We Believe
