AWS Finance seeks a world‑class Financial Analyst to be a key member of its team. This position will work closely with key business partners to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the S3 and Glacier services space.
Responsibilities
Run private deal evaluation models and help Sales and Deal Desk business leaders to make pricing decisions with some of the largest strategic customers in AWS.
Oversee external customer usage, pricing, revenue and marginal costs for the S3 and Glacier businesses to support all aspects of public and private pricing decisions.
Develop short‑ and long‑range demand and revenue forecasts and provide documentation to support the annual OP planning reviews with senior leadership.
Provide customer analytical insights by examining workload heuristic patterns and make recommendations for pricing negotiations.
Take the lead in financial planning and analysis; build complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance against goals.
Qualifications and Experience The successful candidate will implement and drive the core financial processes for the business, including running customer deal evaluations to support pricing negotiations, performing post‑deal audits to ensure successful pricing implementations, and regularly tracking and analyzing customer P&L to drive meaningful pricing decisions.
This role requires a self‑starter with a strong financial modeling background, strong problem‑solving skills, keen attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid project‑management skills. It involves regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.
3+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, or business, or a degree plus 3+ years of quantitative experience (engineering, process re‑engineering, quality assurance).
4+ years of participation in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
MBA, or CPA.
Knowledge of Tableau.
Experience with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
