The Sr Manager Business Consultant will serve as The Chief of Staff (CoS) and a trusted strategic advisor to the AVP of Aetna’s Clinical Innovation & Operational Enablement, driving execution of transformative healthcare initiatives, fostering cross-functional collaboration and ensuring operational excellence across departments. The CoS role bridges strategy and implementation, enabling the organization to accelerate innovation, digital transformation and value based healthcare outcomes. This role acts as a force multiplier for leadership – translating strategic vision into execution ensuring accountability across teams and optimizing decision making through the organization.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Execution
Partner with the AVP and leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans, performance goals, and organizational priorities.
Lead strategic initiatives and ensure timely progress toward company objectives.
Translate innovation concepts into executable plans with measurable outcomes.
Prepare executive-level briefings, presentations, and analyses to support informed decision-making.
Serve as a thought partner on key business issues, identifying risks, opportunities, and improvement areas.
Operational Excellence
Oversee execution of AVP directives and ensure alignment across departments.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure organizational effectiveness.
Drive operational efficiency through process improvements and clear communication workflows.
Lead or coordinate special projects and high-impact initiatives.
Leadership & Team Coordination
Facilitate executive and innovation governance meetings—setting agendas, driving follow-up, and ensuring accountability.
Act as a liaison between the AVP and senior leaders, ensuring clear and timely communication.
Represent the AVP in select meetings, internal discussions, or external engagements.
Communications & Stakeholder Management
Draft executive communications, board reports, and strategic updates.
Manage internal and external communications to ensure alignment with company mission and culture.
Build trusted relationships across teams, key partners and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
7-10 years’ work experience in progressive leadership experience in healthcare strategy innovation, consulting or operations
Proven experience and track record of driving cross‑functional initiatives healthcare transformation, digital health or organizational strategy.
Strong understanding of healthcare systems, regulatory environments, and emerging technologies
Exceptional Strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to translate vision into action.
Skilled in project and change management across complex healthcare settings.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills including influence, and relationship‑building abilities.
Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, mission‑driven, and fast‑paced environment.
Demonstrated relationship management skills; Capacity to quickly build and maintain credible relationships at varying levels of the organization simultaneously
Education
Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification
Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is:
$67,900.00 - $182,549.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
