Overview
Care Assistants provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and assist with unit/department operations under the supervision of registered nurses. Assignment of job responsibilities is delegated by registered nurses assigned to supervise the care assistant and in accordance with this job description.

Responsibilities
Provides supportive patient care.
Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficient and safe operations.
Unit Secretary/clerical functions.
Attends education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
Shares responsibility for teaching and orientation of new personnel (within own skills).
Qualifications
HS diploma or equivalent
1 year of Healthcare experience preferred
1-2 years experience Working with children/families preferred
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
If not a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) one of the following criteria must be met:
Enrolled in a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing education program and have successfully completed the fundamentals in nursing course.
Within the past three (3) years, was a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state licensure examination in any state.
Completed an UAP (unlicensed assistive personnel) program in Missouri or another State (that meets current regulatory requirements) within the past three (3) years.
Completed a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in this country.
Worked as a nurse assistant, emergency medical technician (EMT), or surgical technician within the past three (3) years.
Required BLS certification Required Upon Hire
Some units may require bilingual skills

Starting Pay Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $17.15/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
