office currently has an opportunity for a
Software Engineer
role within our CMI business unit. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers. A Software Engineer II is a mid-level developer/programmer who works primarily as a contributor on a diverse Scrum team by participating in the development process of web-based and other software applications that are data-centric in nature and that operate using a database server back-end. A person in this position is capable of designing solutions and completing development for bug fixes and new feature tasks without the continuous supervision of a senior developer. A Software Engineer II is also capable of assisting more experienced developers with the coding of architectural changes to the software. The job requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a cooperative team member to achieve team goals. Position requires a wide degree of creativity and an individual who can rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. What Youll Work On
Assist in development of multi-tiered software applications Participate in the design and requirement gathering for adding new features and functionality into an existing system Debug and determine fixes for identified software defects Unit test implemented software to ensure the individual unit meets applicable software requirements Assist in integration testing of multiple compiled units to ensure compilation meets applicable software requirements Successfully work with others on a highly integrated Agile/Scrum team. Some travel (~5% of time)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field required or 2 or more years of experience directly related to the RALS platform. 2 or more years of production quality software engineering & coding
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated proficiency with C# or other object-oriented language in a production level environment, required Experience with web development SQL database (capable of crafting query scripts), required Familiarity software version control (git or equivalent), required Software development lifecycle management (TFS or similar), required
The base pay for this position is $60,000.00 $120,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted. Job family: Product Development. Division: CMI ARDx Cardiometabolic and Informatics. Location: United States Lake Forest: J55. Additional locations: Standard work shift. Travel: Not specified. Medical surveillance: Not Applicable.
