The salary range posted represents the low and high end of OSI’s salary range for this position. Salaries will vary based on factors including location, education, skills, experience and performance. Base salary is one component of OSI’s total rewards package. Other components may include bonuses, special pay programs, comprehensive time off, 401k with match and a full suite of benefit offerings.

Responsibilities

Role is an individual contributor with no direct reports.

Key member of the Facility EHS Team responsible for helping develop a strong EHS culture.

Coach all levels of employees to achieve best-in-class EHS performance.

Review and update safety policies and procedures to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local regulations and corporate standards.

Participate in and/or execute EHS audits and inspections to verify compliance and identify improvement opportunities.

Track corrective actions identified through audits and inspections to closure.

Promote safety awareness and culture across shifts using established and innovative risk reduction techniques.

Assist with workers compensation, liability or property claim investigations and identify corrective actions.

Participate on facility safety committees and administer EHS-related training.

Represent the company during federal, state, and local safety inspections as needed.

Track EHS metrics and manage related data; communicate metrics and goals to facility leadership and hourly employees.

Uphold and implement safety procedures through education, training, protective equipment use, and compliance with policies, regulations, standards and laws.

Perform other duties as assigned and partner on corporate projects.

Matrix role to Plant Manager and to Corporate Safety.

Experience and Skills

4-6 years of experience in related field preferred.

Knowledge of EHS regulations, industry best practices, and related guidelines preferred.

GSP, ASP or other certifications preferred.

Experience with Management Systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 preferred.

Clear and effective communication, both individually and in group settings.

Interpersonal skills to influence others.

Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Education BA/BS or equivalent preferred in safety or environmental.

Work Environment

Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and movement of equipment and personnel.

Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.

This role does not require domestic travel.

Position may require lifting up to 50 pounds and physical agility for standing, bending, reaching, and other movements.
