The Category Advisor is a critical, strategic leadership position within the Category Management team responsible for developing and managing key strategic category management initiatives with our Walmart buyers, including the modular relay process and category performance measurement. The successful candidate will be an expert in Walmart modular processes from start to finish, including drawing, automation of placements, modular generation and finalization and end reporting.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage key strategic category management initiatives with Walmart buyers, including the modular relay process and category performance measurement. Serve as owner of the Walmart modular relay process, with the ability to manage large projects and resources. Lead advanced knowledge of Walmart modular process from start to finish, including drawing, automation of placements, modular generation, finalization and end reporting. Qualifications
Ability to influence and inform category strategies with advanced knowledge of distribution, shelving, merchandising and pricing that leads to improved category performance. Comfortable developing strong relationships with Walmart Buyers and Walmart cross-functional partners. Experience leveraging and informing category, shopper and consumer insights. Strong communication and presentation skills at the executive level; ability to interact confidently with team members, management and customer contacts. Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment focused on solutions. Proficiency with common tools, including space management tools, assortment optimization tools, and MS Office Suite. Advanced technical knowledge in JDA (coding/scripting) and Shelf IQ. Working knowledge of pulling and analyzing Circana and Scintilla data (Report Builder, Shopper Behavior & Customer Perception). Education And Work History
Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field preferred. A combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted. CPG experience required. DSD experience preferred. 5+ years experience in Category Management; must have previous Walmart experience in an advisory function. MUST have extensive JDA knowledge.
