Location:
This is an on-site, individual contributor role located in Elyria, Ohio. A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position.
Eligibility:

Position Summary Advocate and support the Corporate WIN Strategy by participating in the Supplier selection program regarding supplier capabilities and working with existing suppliers to ensure full quality compliance. Must have ability to deal with people at a cross‑functional level. Position requires ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form in order to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, customers, and the general public.
Essential Functions
Establish and maintain a Supplier quality system that is effective in producing, measuring and maintaining a supply base measured by DPPM.
Ensure compliance to procedures outlined in the Supplier Quality Manual and revise and implement changes as required.
Participate in Supplier reviews and provide input to the Purchasing Department regarding supplier quality.
Perform supplier quality system functions to ensure reliability and accuracy of products provided by the supply base.
Ensure that nonconforming material is dispositioned in a timely manner.
Coordinate with suppliers all initiatives relating to supplier quality performance.
Track performance trends and perform quality trend analysis from the supplier base and facilitate corrective actions as appropriate.
Lead supplier development activities for dock‑to‑stock programs.
Utilize lean manufacturing, error‑proofing, and continuous improvement initiatives to support the Supplier base by assisting in the development of robust processes that assure quality products and services.
Provide support to customers relative to supply‑based issues.
Participate in lean and high‑performance team activities and/or events.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 2‑5 years of related experience (Quality Engineering preferred).
Thorough knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts and general business operations.
Ability to effectively solve problems, assess and implement continuous improvement techniques to quality and manufacturing functions; use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools; establish goals and objectives to complete projects; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Prefer ASQ Certification, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification, and/or ISO Internal Auditor Certification.
