Recovery Starship - Casa D is a 15‑bed licensed social rehabilitation facility for adults 18+ with serious mental illness and dual diagnosis. The maximum stay is 18 months (average stay 9–12 months).

Position Summary Under direct supervision, the Case Manager provides primary support and case management for individuals with mental illness and other co‑occurring disorders, assisting them to live as independently as possible in their chosen community.

Shift & Compensation Full‑time, NOC. Shifts available: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Sunday–Thursday) or 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Friday–Monday). Expected starting wage is $21.42.

Qualifications – Required

High School graduation or G.E.D. plus two (2) years of direct services in mental health or community services; or an associate’s degree and one (1) year of experience; or a bachelor’s degree in social services.

California FACT, ACT, or MAPS programs: At least 30 semester (45 quarter) units of college coursework in behavioral or social science, or 60 semester (90 quarter) units with 15 semester (23 quarter) units in behavioral science, psych tech courses, and alcohol & drug certificate courses.

One (1) year of experience providing mental health services, including interviewing, referring participants, and performing crisis intervention; or three (3) years in a behavioral health department with direct participant contact; or a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science with six (6) months of such experience.

Sensitivity to multicultural populations and issues.

Minimum age 18 years.

CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certification on date of employment or within 60 days, maintained throughout employment.

Successful completion of required physical examination, 2‑step PPD test for tuberculosis, criminal background clearance, and, if applicable, valid driver’s license, motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance.

Qualifications – Preferred

Four (4) years’ experience in a mental health setting.

Experience providing intensive case management and community supports using biopsychosocial rehabilitation concepts.

Experience in an outpatient clinic, dual diagnosis treatment, or community mental health service.

Essential Functions

Demonstrate Telecare’s mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in all interactions.

Collaborate with clients to create Recovery Plan goals.

Ensure all services described in the Recovery Plan are provided.

Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Facilitate groups, deliver crisis interventions, and perform officer‑of‑the‑day duties on a rotating basis.

Collect data, complete required documentation, and coordinate transitions to lower levels of care.

Maintain awareness of community resources and assist clients with activities of daily living, appointments, benefits, and transportation.

Advocate for clients’ rights, maintain confidentiality, and follow HIPAA policies.

Document quality and quantity of direct services as required by program standards.

Skills

Understanding of clients’ rights and relevant legal processes.

Effective written and verbal communication, organization/time‑management, and computer skills.

Ability to assess safety risks, build rapport with diverse populations, and drive safely.

Knowledge of basic medical and psychiatric terminology.

Within two months of employment, ability to apply financial requirements for billing and learn billing codes.

Physical Demands The position requires occasional standing, twisting, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting or carrying items weighing 25 pounds or less, as well as frequent sitting, walking, reaching, bending, and power grasping. Driving and exposure to hazards such as blood‑borne pathogens, hospital waste, chemicals, and infections are also required.
