Overview
Respiratory Care Practitioner II, Neonatal Specialist at Sutter Health. Focus on NICU and Labor and Delivery (L&D). Performs therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures and provides assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
Job Description Education: Graduate of Respiratory Care Program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
Certification & Licensure
CA Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Provider within 180 days of hire.
BLS - Basic Life Support.
Preferred Experience (Typically Acquired In)
Experience with intubation of infants strongly preferred.
Acute care clinical experience in Respiratory Care, training in arterial puncture and blood gas analysis. Previous experience in performing EKG is desired.
Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, chemistry, and physics.
Knowledge of bedside pulmonary function testing; mechanics and equipment.
Knowledge of arterial puncture and blood gas analysis, equipment and quality control.
Familiarity with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards and CAP accreditation standards.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in volatile situations.
Ability to understand, read and write English.

Pay Range is $52.12 to $63.55 per hour. The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any geographic differential. Compensation considers experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is one component of the total rewards program. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
