Job Description The Shared Business Services Center (SBSC) is seeking customer service focused individuals to join its team of specialists! We provide a hybrid remote working environment in which you will work majority of the week from home, while reporting to campus at least one day per week. Essential Duties Financial Specialists are responsible for monitoring account activity and producing high quality financial reports to support the campus customers of the Shared Business Services Center. This analytical support includes but is not limited to producing expense certifications, financial commitment management, processing cost transfers and budget revisions, gathering financial data and compiling reports, forecasting, annual budget entry support, communicating regularly and effectively with department decision makers, and other financial support tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED, AND: 18 months experience in accounting/bookkeeping or related field.
Skills
Financial or accounting experience to include analysis, auditing and budgeting.
Able to understand a chart of accounts and code entries to proper account.
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff.
Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines.
Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives.
Aptitude for excellent customer service.
Certifications None
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Ability to effectively communicate verbally or in writing.
Engage in repetitive motion.
Use of computer and calculator.
Ability to follow written and oral directions, hand/finger dexterity to operate computer.
Departmental Preferences
University experience.
Associate or Bachelor's degree.
Supervision No Supervisory Duties.
