Job Description Our wonderful community, The Montera, is hiring an Executive Director to join their team in La Mesa, CA. Job Summary: The Executive Director is a visionary leader, championing a culture of compassion, respect, and resident-centered care, fostering a community known for innovative resident programming, high performing teams, and MBK values. The ED has full profit and loss responsibility, overseeing day-to-day operations, maximizing efficiency, and ensuring compliance with regulations and Company policies. This role ensures residents receive high-quality care and the staff is engaged and supported, while maintaining financial stability and a safe working and living environment. Supervisory Responsibilities: Hire, train, directly/indirectly supervise, set performance goals, monitor and evaluate performance, coach for development, and manage disciplinary actions for all Department Directors and staff to support residents’ interests. Duties & Responsibilities: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to achieve goals related to occupancy, resident satisfaction, financial performance, and a safe environment for residents and staff. Implement immediate solutions to operational challenges for rapid stabilization of resident care and staff performance. Oversee day-to-day functions, ensuring compliance with regulations and Company policies while maintaining efficient operations. Drive operational excellence by adhering to MBK policies and promoting a uniform resident and employee experience. Serve as a central hub of support for all departments to ensure seamless operations across care, dining, activities, and maintenance. Identify and escalate urgent issues, mobilize cross-functional teams, and mitigate risks to residents and the community. Inform necessary parties in a timely manner according to guidelines. Collaborate with department directors to develop policies and foster interdepartmental collaboration. Lead strategic initiatives and changes to protocols, programming, and staff development to influence long-term success. Analyze KPIs and operational data to identify opportunities, make data-driven decisions, and drive corrective actions. Ensure residents’ needs are met and align care with licensure requirements. Facilitate resident engagement by ensuring access to programs and events, including transportation as needed. Regularly engage with residents and families to gather feedback and assess satisfaction. Collaborate with the Director of Sales to develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive occupancy and manage waitlists. Manage all aspects of community operations, finances, and reporting, including budget management and financial records. Maintain knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes. Hold self and leadership accountable for policy compliance and continuing education requirements. Ensure a safe environment by overseeing maintenance, risk management, and safety regulations including OSHA compliance and workers’ compensation matters. Cross-train and delegate to ensure continuity during absences or transitions. Promote a positive community image and respond to inquiries, with corrective action plans when needed. Promote teamwork and open communication through mentoring and recognition, aligned with MBK values. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned. Education Requirements: Must possess current State/Federal administrator’s licenses/certifications in good standing and maintain through continuing education hours. Must meet minimum education units/degree or certification requirements based on community size and state requirements. Experience Requirements Must meet minimum years of management experience in a healthcare field providing residential care to the elderly, based on community size and state requirements. Required Competencies/Licenses/Certifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Must complete background clearances, health screening, and provide negative TB test results within 7 days of employment. Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance or reliable transportation. Solid PC skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and office equipment. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with ability to explain complex ideas to diverse audiences. Sound judgment and ability to make informed decisions, manage conflicts, and handle emergencies with safety in mind. Ability to anticipate risks, develop contingency plans, and maintain discretion and confidentiality. Ability to interact professionally with personnel, residents, families, and guests. Physical Demands & Work Environment: Willingness to support flexible schedules on short notice, including evenings and weekends. Mobility to perform physical requirements such as walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling, reaching, and repetitive motions. Ability to sit at a computer for prolonged periods and move around the community as needed. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds, as necessary. Ability to assist in the physical movement of residents during transfers or emergencies. Ability to handle sensitive situations with composure. Salary:
