HVAC Engineering - Base Salary to 130k/year - Chicago, IL

They are currently looking to add a Mechanical Design Manager to their team as they continue to grow.
The Mechanical Design Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the CAD team, overseeing the creation and review of HVAC and piping CAD/Revit drawings, coordinating clash detection with contractors and VDC partners, and developing BIM processes, standards, and libraries to ensure efficient project delivery.
Responsibilities
Oversee and guide the CAD team’s daily activities, ensuring accountability and consistent delivery of quality work.
Build and expand the BIM team by creating and implementing innovative CAD/Revit workflows, standards, and comprehensive libraries.
Produce, review, and verify CAD and Revit drawings to ensure they meet all project requirements and quality standards.
Coordinate clash detection processes with project stakeholders to identify and resolve design conflicts proactively.
Participate in project meetings as needed, providing technical insights and clear communication to support project goals.
Collaborate directly with field personnel on job sites to ensure design intent is effectively translated into construction.
Manage and balance multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess and choose the best solutions among alternatives.
Communicate complex information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to colleagues at all organizational levels, including executives.
Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
Work independently, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to perform with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
10+ years’ experience in HVAC contracting and BIM
2+ years’ team management experience
Proficient in Revit and Navisworks; familiar with CAD-Duct and piping prefabrication processes
Strong knowledge of HVAC and piping systems
Compensation
Base salary to 130k/year
