As the Senior Director, Contract Management Lead, you'll lead the Contract Management team, coordinating the creation and implementation of US Market Access contracting agreements with Health Insurance Providers across Alexion’s portfolio. This pivotal role ensures that all agreements meet business, legal, operational, and compliance standards within a rapidly evolving environment. Based at Alexion’s Boston headquarters, you will report directly to the Head of US Contract Management & Operations. Are you prepared to make a significant impact?

Accountabilities

Lead the contract review committee to align contracts with healthcare providers, payers, managed care organizations, and other stakeholders with Alexion’s business objectives, legal standards, and operational capabilities.

Establish and maintain commercial contracting implications affecting revenue management, accrual, forecasting, and GTN activities.

Provide strategic guidance and recommendations on contract terms and conditions to the Contract, Pricing, & GTN Strategy team.

Review and refine critical documents for Market Access customers, ensuring clarity and compliance.

Present strategic insights on contracting scenarios, collaborating with legal and Market Access teams to develop alternative solutions.

Advise on contract negotiations to resolve complex issues and anticipate future concerns.

Oversee the development of a comprehensive tracking system for contract terms to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Guide the development of ongoing reporting requirements related to Market Access documents.

Act as a knowledge expert/leader to build, refine, analyze, monitor, and innovate access throughout the product lifecycle.

Collaborate with Access Strategy & Marketing, Legal and Channel, and Payer account teams to provide consultations and thought leadership.

Develop routine and timely reporting that provides informative and valuable insights.

Essential Skills/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of study

10+ years related experience in US Biotech/biopharma or pharmaceutical contracting

Experience leading Market Access Teams

Extensive prior experience in Market Access contracting

Experience in market access contract management for rare disease medicines

Experience launching new products and indications

Knowledge of Government Pricing implications and calculations

Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical contract management, accounts, vendors, and processes

Excellent team leadership and development skills

Strong project management skills in a cross-functional environment

Ability to excel in a fast-paced, results-driven environment

Strong understanding of industry regulations and standards

High proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint)

Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills

Up to 20% travel as required

Ability to use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving; collaborate with others; maintain availability during standard business hours

Desirable Skills/Experience

MBA, MPH, or other advanced degree

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $235,192.00 - 352,788.00 USD Annual. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program 401(k); paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
