Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for an MP&P Technical Analyst (Level 2 or 3) to join our Chemistry Laboratory Team located in Portland, Oregon

Position Responsibilities

Evaluates parts, materials, processes, suppliers, technology, tools or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications throughout the product life cycle.

Conducts research, tests and analysis to support the use of materials, processes tools and equipment in the engineering and manufacture of products.

Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures.

Generates test plans, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root cause, documents results and recommendations and takes corrective action for manufacturing, design and documentation issues.

Proposes, develops, maintains, and validates revisions to procedures and specifications for producibility, safety and quality.

Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes and supports production implementation of materials, processes and equipment.

Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by researching, designing, prototyping, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating and implementing new concepts, materials, processes, equipment and technology.

Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, suppliers, partners, government agencies and peers to ensure products and services meet requirements.

Generates testing coupons, operates test equipment, conducts test activities, monitors test procedures, and maintains compliance with laboratory safety practices.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Associate’s Degree or higher in related discipline AND 1 or more years’ of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience working in a chemical laboratory or a chemical processing facility

2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Willingness to work in a High Hazard Chemical Process Area

2+ years of lab test operations experience

Experience and ability to safely handle and work with hazardous chemicals

Experience with Chemicals and Finishes coupon generating and testing techniques and processes

Experience in the operation, integration, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of different laboratory equipment

Experience developing laboratory documentation, test procedures, and data collection protocols

Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)

Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and work requests from start to finish

Strong ability to perform work independently as well as work well with others

High attention to detail, self-starter and results driven

Interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to perform effectively in a team environment

Experience with MS Office Suite, such as Word and Excel

Physically able to lift 35 pounds

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Associate level (Level 2): $56,100 - $75,900

Summary pay range for Mid-Level (Level 3): $65,450 - $88,550
