Position Overview

The Information Systems Applications Analyst/Trainer I - Epic Ambulatory Team at Pascagoula Hospital is a full-time role (Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST) with occasional weekend and holiday work as needed and on-call requirements. Address: 2809 Denny Avenue, Pascagoula, Mississippi, 39581, United States. The Application Analyst I supports knowledge of appropriate applications and serves as a bridge between vendors, end users, and team members. The Analyst I conducts regular day-to-day communication with internal teams, application vendors, clinical and business representatives, and subject matter experts to tailor systems to the organization’s needs. He/She assists in analyzing workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues related to the use of different applications. The Analyst I acts as a primary support contact and coordinates efforts and status updates with end users and operational stakeholders in conjunction with other team members. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, mathematics, clinically related field, or equivalent experience may be considered. License As appropriate for the team, the Analyst I will be hired into. Not limited to Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Coding, etc. Certifications Current certification in Epic applications required within the first 90 days of employment. Must maintain Epic certification(s) including completion of required training to maintain certification. Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days) and must maintain the appropriate level of de-escalation training. Experience A minimum of one (1) year of experience in developing, implementing, operating, or maintaining information systems in an integrated healthcare delivery system, including hospitals and/or clinic settings. Previous installation experience with healthcare systems databases and interfaces in hospitals and/or clinic settings or with a healthcare system vendor is preferred. Experience with project management or project execution on small projects is preferred. Reports To Manager Information System Revenue Cycle & Ambulatory or Manager of Clinical Applications. Supervises N/A Physical Demands Work is moderately sedentary and involves sitting with regular movement throughout the office and facility, including travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and fingers are required when operating standard office equipment (keyboard, copier, 10-key). Must be able to perceive sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; must have close visual acuity and the ability to shift gaze between a computer monitor and printed materials to compare data at close vision. Must be able to be active for extended periods and work flexible hours in a rotating on-call schedule with other Epic team members. Mental Demands Must have knowledge of applicable operations for which the position requires. Must demonstrate sound decision-making, effective communication, emotional stability under high stress, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Must be able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and work independently. Requires a combination of intermediate to complex analytical, clinical, financial, and administrative abilities. Special Demands Must understand workflows to design and execute software solutions that solve business or clinical problems. Must have basic to intermediate knowledge of common computer software applications (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio). Out-of-state travel for education purposes may be required. Travel throughout the SRHS service area may be needed with the employee providing own transportation.
