has an outstanding opportunity for a

Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C).

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

Monday-Friday, 8:15am-4:45pm

Day Shift

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Infectious Disease Clinic at UW Medical Center - Northwest provides inpatient and outpatient consultations along with leading-edge diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of infections.

You may be referred to our clinic when an infection is difficult to diagnose, does not initially respond to treatment or requires specialized or intravenous therapy. Conditions we routinely treat include hepatitis B and C, HIV, endocarditis, osteomyelitis, hospital acquired infections, fungal infections, tuberculosis, cellulitis, sexually transmitted infections, surgical infections and travel-related illness.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records

Perform injections

Phlebotomy

Prepare and clean exam rooms

Submit medication prior authorizations

Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider

Act as a liaison between patient, patient's family and providers

Assist provider with procedures and medical exams

Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values

Assist in transporting patients as required

REQUIREMENTS

Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation boardOR equivalent

Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment

Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$27.18 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$38.89 hourly

Other Compensation:

$5,000 sign on bonus Overtime eligible
