Job Description SGS has a great opportunity for aGeochemistry Laboratory Manager join team in Tennant Creek, NT. This is a FIFO opportunity from Perth. The roster is 2 weeks on 2 weeks off days only
Responsibilities include, however not limited to:
Keep clients informed on progress of samples and answer queries.
Manage priorities and monitor progress to ensure timeliness and quality of results.
Maintain appropriate staff levels and encourage enhancement of skills.
Ensure adequate organisational structure is in place.
Ensure staff training and records are kept.
Responsible for quality and accuracy of results.
Provide regular management and quality reports.
Maintain Quality Management System and Laboratory Manuals.
Ensure equipment is adequately maintained.
Maintain and improve own knowledge to be able to contribute towards progression of the laboratory.
Responsibility for P&L whilst working within a defined budget.
Contribute to setting operating and capex budget.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have:
Professional qualifications in chemistry or a related discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience
Experience in geochemistry laboratory work and chemical knowledge
Basic understanding of computer applications
Experience in supervising staff
Demonstrated experience in administration
Knowledge of Company Quality Systems
Basic business finance understanding
