The Opportunity The

Strategic Account Manager (SAM)

will help drive the growth of the strategic customer segment – corporate accounts. In this role, you'll build and maintain strong relationships with our largest and most complex accounts, ensuring our initiatives align with their needs. You'll be the main point of contact for key clients, working closely with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions and drive business success. This isn’t just about managing accounts – it’s about being a true ambassador of Dechra’s values, both inside and outside the company. By collaborating across internal teams and providing strategic leadership, the SAM will be the key driver in maximizing account growth and optimizing revenue.

Build Strong Client Relationships

Be the trusted point of contact for our most important corporate partners, developing deep, long‑lasting relationships.

Understand each client’s unique goals and challenges, tailoring solutions that help them succeed.

Work closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, medical, operations, customer service) to ensure we deliver the best possible experience for our clients.

Drive Strategic Growth

Lead the creation and execution of strategic plans to expand business with key accounts and unlock new opportunities.

Identify opportunities for cross‑selling and upselling, connecting clients with products and services that truly meet their needs.

Set ambitious goals and track performance, driving growth in revenue, customer satisfaction, and long‑term partnerships.

Stay ahead of the competition by understanding the competitive landscape and pricing, maximizing contractual advantages to benefit both Dechra and our clients.

Champion Client Satisfaction

Maximize client satisfaction by staying ahead of their needs, solving problems quickly, and maintaining strong communication.

Monitor the health of your accounts and work proactively with clients to keep them engaged and satisfied.

Anticipate challenges and collaborate with teams to prevent issues, ensuring clients feel supported every step of the way.

Lead Sales and Negotiations

Initiate contract negotiations, renewals, and pricing discussions, ensuring win‑win agreements.

Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and closing deals.

Collaborate Across Teams

Partner with sales, marketing, medical, and operations colleagues to meet client needs and deliver innovative solutions.

Share key market insights and client feedback to help shape the company’s offerings and drive business improvement.

Analyze and Report on Success

Prepare insightful reports on account performance, revenue growth, and opportunities for further success.

Conduct regular business reviews with clients, assessing progress, uncovering new opportunities, and ensuring satisfaction.

Own Financial and Operational Management

Manage customer discounts, rebates, and maintain a sharp understanding of revenue versus margin to optimize profitability.

Work closely with leadership to ensure business goals are met and ensure strategic alignment for long‑term success.

Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience in account management or sales, preferably in a senior role or with a focus on handling large strategic accounts.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or related field.

Demonstrated enhanced strategic account management with a proven track record of growing key accounts and exceeding sales targets.

Ability to market and sell complex integrated solutions.

Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment managing multiple accounts simultaneously.

Proven business and financial acumen.

Customer‑focused professional demeanor and presentation style.

Computer skills (MS Office and willingness to learn Dechra systems).

Ability to travel 25‑30%.
