As the Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will lead the risk & reliability function for rotating machines at the plant. These functions include promoting and developing reliability management approaches, maintaining effective utilisation of machine condition monitoring and machine performance monitoring, and maintaining high standards in how we carry out overhauls and preventative maintenance. Other duties include:
Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety.
Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations.
Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values.
Support Rotating Equipment Improvement initiatives – Maintenance initiatives & Capital Projects
Daily Support to Operations & Maintenance
Participates in Process Safety Management (PSM) hazard studies
Ensure that all rotating plant equipment assets at the Plant have effective Reliability and Capability Life Plans
Work closely with Maintenance Planners to ensure that preventive & predictive maintenance work orders in SAP are aligned with equipment maintenance strategies.
Ensure operation of critical machines within defined integrity operating windows.
Ensure major rotating equipment risks are identified, assessed, documented & mitigated in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Influence a significant reduction in the frequency and business impact of rotating equipment failures.
Complete equipment failure investigations using root cause analysis techniques for rotating equipment hazards, near misses and incidents
Conduct engineering statistical reliability studies from risk assessments, criticality data, corrective maintenance history and failure history.
Assure compliance to relevant external statutory regulations and internal plant and engineering standards; communicate such requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Responsible Engineer for the management of Rotating Equipment per the IPL standard.
Implementation and auditing of standards and guidelines in collaboration with other Engineers and Operations personnel.
Ensure application of Company Management of Change (MOC) policies and standards. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
5+ years in maintenance and/or engineering of a petro-chemical manufacturing plant, power generation or similar heavy industry environment.
Knowledge of rotating plant equipment and good knowledge of materials, failure mechanisms, fabrication and repair processes and procedures
Technically competent with respect to management of rotating equipment in particular: rotor dynamics, performance monitoring, principles of compressible flow, principles of lubrication management, condition monitoring, reliability benchmarks, best engineering practices and machinery overhaul practices.
Familiarity with Safety Management Systems, Quality Management Systems, and Turnaround Management systems
