Overview TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Training & Development Consultant will focus on sales and revenue growth within the business and industry sector by promoting and delivering customized training solutions. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with key corporate clients to understand and predict training needs. The consultant will execute targeted outreach and promotion of initiatives to effectively communicate the value of training offerings. Additionally, they will represent the college at industry events to strengthen partnerships and attract new clients. They will be responsible for developing and delivering custom Business & Workforce Solutions training programs which may be held on NIACC campus or at a business location and may be held during the day, evening, and/or weekends.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Starting salary of $55,600 to $68,200 based on experience. Benefits package includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield major medical health insurance; eye care, dental, life and disability insurance; paid vacation and sick leave; a choice of IPERS or TIAA retirement plans, and a variety of additional optional benefits.

Required qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor\'s degree plus three to five years of successful business or related manufacturing experience. Must possess the ability to communicate comfortably and effectively with business people of varying industries and backgrounds. Ability to work effectively with teams and possess the self-discipline to work independently, adhering to a schedule and meeting deadlines. Ability to coordinate and organize multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master\'s degree preferred. Background in process improvement strongly preferred.

Responsibilities and duties

Execute outreach to business and industry for the purposes of sales and revenue growth.

Identify, develop, market, implement, and evaluate contract training activities with business in North Iowa.

Assist in the administration of economic development funding programs (primarily Iowa Code 260E, 260F, and Workforce Training & Economic Development Fund funded activities).

Conduct needs assessments with area business to identify strategies that will assist them in achieving sustainability.

Develop training plans and associated activities that support the delivery of economic development projects in the North Iowa area.

Contact potential business customers to continuously seek new and expanded training opportunities between NIACC and North Iowa businesses and industries.

Develop an understanding of NIACC programs to provide the businesses with the most comprehensive training and service.

Provide responsive customer service, regularly evaluating customer needs, satisfaction, and program outcomes.

Evaluate curriculum and instructional materials and methods for new and ongoing industry training programs.

Provide for hiring, orientation, staff development, facilitation of payroll, and supervision of instructors/trainers.

Work in cooperation with other Iowa community colleges and training partners.

Serve as a member of divisional and institutional committees and participate in professional organizations and college committees.

Coordinate and execute other educational programming as assigned.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with other NIACC departments to support and enhance training offerings.

Organize advisory committees as needed to provide course ideas and guidance, consortiums of industries, etc.

Manage project financial activities by budgeting for upcoming classes and events.

Maintain strong organizational skills, demonstrate reliability, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Fulfill other responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
