Overview
Internship conversion position for the Engineering Applications Department (EAD) within the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This position will be full-time, 100% onsite at our office in Chantilly, VA.
Job Summary Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers.
EAD develops a wide variety of innovative tools and applications to support civil, commercial, and national security space systems. From web, cloud, and desktop visualization to virtual and augmented reality; EAD evaluates and creates unique visual experiences that present data and analysis to key decision-makers. We are looking for a Junior Full Stack Engineer (Associate Member of Technical Staff – Systems Software Engineer) to join the Intelligent Ops and Software Integration team that supports our customer laboratories in developing software solutions that include life and characterization software, software delivery, middleware development, and data visualizations.

What You’ll Be Doing
Support industry leading scientists and engineers in the development of maintainable cloud native web applications as well as development of backend service-oriented architecture components
Provide technical support in application architecture and development and continuous integration and continuous deployment
Build user interfaces with advanced visualizations to enhance data analysis and decision-making processes
Interface with a wide variety of Engineering and Technology Group (ETG), launch, satellite, and other program office customers
Foster innovation by staying current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university program in Computer Science, Engineering or a related STEM field (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation.
Minimum GPA of 3.0
0-1 year of industry work experience
Demonstrated skill in object-oriented programming languages and modern web frameworks. Experience in C++, Java, or Python. Proficiency in MERN is highly desirable
Knowledge in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
Ability to work both independently, and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Willing to travel occasionally to customer sites domestically, approximately 5%
This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
Experience in full stack development
Ability to deploy applications to Kubernetes
Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of customers and staff
