As adelivery suite coordinator, you will work in partnership with other band 7coordinators, ward managers, matrons, and medical obstetric colleagues to ensurean excellent standard of care is provided to women and their families. Youwill be located on Delivery Suite and Triage providing clinical care and leadershipguidance, support and advice to other members of the team, over a 24 hourperiod. Ourideal candidate will have a wide range of clinical skills and be keen to takepart in the leadership of the unit. You will work collaboratively with themulti-disciplinary team and strive to improve the quality of our services. Applicationsare welcomed from passionate Band 6 and Band 7 midwives who have recent experience of labour care andan understanding of both low and high risk antenatal pathways. The Band 7 Midwife has a continuingresponsibility to coordinate Delivery Suite and Maternity Triage demonstratingexcellent communication and interpersonal skills. The band 7 will facilitateinnovative and evidence-based midwifery practice through professionalleadership and supporting the clinical team. The band 7 will act as a credibleand professional role model and encourage and empower other staff to develop bothpersonally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential. The band 7must maintain an awareness of the condition of all Delivery Suite patients aswell as high risk patients on the Antenatal and Postnatal ward. The band 7 willparticipate in Medical staff handovers and Consultant ward rounds. The band 7will assist in managing workload, skill mixes, staffing levels, bedavailability. The Band 7 will have regular exposure to unpredictable highlevels of clinical activity and must have the ability to prioritise workloaddespite completing demands and constantly changing service requirements, whereit is essential to remain calm under pressure. This will be paramount whenundertaking the role of the Unit Coordinator. The postholder will activelyengage in professional development, and quality improvement, while supportingstudent learning and contributing to a positive team culture. About us

Registered Midwife with Current NMC Registration Degree in Midwifery or Equivalent Successful completion of Mentorship or Supervisor and Assessor Course Evidence of further and continuous professional development (CPD) Newborn Life Support (NLS) course completion Masters degree or willingness to undertake NIPE Trained Experience
Experience of Supporting Learning/Mentoring in Practice Leadership/Management Experience to support a safe culture Recent Labour Ward Experience. Experience of all Areas of Maternity Care. Experience of Governance and Risk Management Experience of Being Involved in Change Management Skills, Personal Attributes and Values & Behaviours
Proven Organisational and Management Skills Demonstrate advanced midwifery competencies e.gs. include perineal suturing, topping up epidurals (Consultant unit only), IV cannulation, IV administration, venepuncture, CTG interpretation and intermittent auscultation. Excellent IT skills; competent with emails, MS Office packages like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel and familiar with Trust and Maternity Information Systems. Ability to work flexibly on their own or as part of the team Demonstrates an organised approach to work and be able to prioritise or delegate Demonstrates can work well under pressure and in stressful situations Demonstrates excellent communication skills including sensitive conversations with staff, service users and visitors Demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trusts Values and Behaviours: Being open and honest; Ensuring people feel cared for; showing respect to everyone Ability to respond following adverse outcomes Change shifts in alignment to local business contingency planning Ability to undertake shifts to cover the 24/7 service Knowledge of clinical audit and effectiveness systems Counselling Skills Disclosure and Barring Service Check
