Overview

Customer Service/Sales associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. These associates learn about products using our tools, and provide information to customers in order to sell an entire project. Associates in this position will learn how to greet, qualify, recommend and close every customer in their department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments. The Customer Service/Sales position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist. Specific store departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing and Tool Rental. The role works with the Department Supervisor and other associates in the department and may interact with other departments.

Pay

Base pay range: $20.50/hr - $23.50/hr

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance.
• Learn product information using available tools and provide guidance to customers to help complete purchases.
• Greet, qualify, recommend and close every customer in the assigned department; handle basics in adjacent departments.
• Maintain in-stock condition of assigned areas; ensure areas are clean, shop-able, and safe.
• Follow all safety policies and standards, complete required safety training, and report hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
• Collaborate with the Department Supervisor, department colleagues, and other departments to optimize customer service and operations.
