Director of Information Technology Location: Midtown Manhattan, NYC Overview
Our client, a rapidly growing venture capital firm based in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking a Director of Technology to lead all aspects of the company’s technology operations, digital platforms, and cybersecurity initiatives. This individual will play a key leadership role in shaping the firm’s technology vision and ensuring that systems, infrastructure, and data environments effectively support business growth, operational efficiency, and investment expansion. The ideal candidate will be a strategic yet hands-on technology leader with a strong background in infrastructure, cloud systems, cybersecurity, and post-acquisition integration. This is an opportunity to build and scale a modern technology environment within a dynamic, fast-paced investment firm. Responsibilities
Develop and execute the firm’s enterprise technology roadmap to support organizational goals, portfolio expansion, and operational efficiency. Oversee infrastructure, systems, and applications across corporate and portfolio operations, ensuring performance, scalability, and security. Lead the internal IT and support functions, fostering a culture of service excellence and proactive technology enablement across the business. Manage digital and web platforms supporting corporate and portfolio initiatives, collaborating with brand, marketing, and operations teams to enhance digital capabilities. Drive cybersecurity and risk management strategies, establishing governance frameworks and compliance standards across all business systems. Partner with leadership and investment teams to lead technology due diligence and post-acquisition integration for new portfolio companies. Oversee vendor relationships and technology partnerships, ensuring optimal performance, cost efficiency, and contractual alignment with business priorities. Implement enterprise data and analytics strategies that enable better visibility, decision-making, and reporting across the organization. Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Legal leadership to align technology solutions with business objectives. Build, mentor, and lead a small but high-impact technology team focused on innovation, accountability, and operational excellence. Qualifications
12–15 years of progressive experience in technology leadership, infrastructure management, and digital transformation. Experience within financial services, private equity, venture capital, brand management, or other multi-entity corporate environments strongly preferred. Demonstrated success managing IT strategy, operations, and cybersecurity at the enterprise level. Strong understanding of cloud platforms, cybersecurity frameworks, and enterprise applications. Experience leading technology due diligence and integration during mergers or acquisitions. Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. Seniority level
