This position will be filled as a highly motivated Flight Test Engineer with a passion for developmental flight test for our Roadrunner platform. You will work heavily with the program leadership and a wide spectrum of cross‑departments to help assist the team focused on solving hard problems and changing the industry forever. The role will be responsible for assisting on planning, coordination, execution and reporting on all facets of the flight test program.
What You’ll Do
Plan, execute, and report on test activities as a Test & Evaluation (T&E) engineer.
Conduct system‑level evaluation of hardware and software, focusing on ground and flight tests.
Enhance and develop test processes, and engage in technical test assessments.
Interpret test data, identify system behaviors, and drive product and process improvements.
Manage the use of test ranges and coordinate with external agencies to facilitate testing activities.
Work in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or related technical discipline from an accredited institution and 2+ years of flight test engineering experience.
Ability to travel for planning and testing.
Prior experience with the National Airspace System and UAS operating rules and regulations.
Strong understanding of fundamental flight test processes and principles.
Ability to quickly grasp concepts, organize and schedule work, troubleshoot field‑related problems and create effective solutions.
Strong computer and documentation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; perform complex tasks in multiple engineering areas.
Willingness to work extended hours as required.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD).
Experience as a test conductor, test director, or similar role.
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
Familiarity with Linux and programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, etc.
US Salary Range $86,000–$114,000 USD (base salary only, inclusive of equity and benefits).
