Role Designation: Database Engineer - Level III IT Security Designation: ADP/IT-II Investigation Required: Tier 3 (T3) IA Technical/Management Designation: IAT II and CE Commercial (Baseline) Certificates: Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program (CWP), DoDD 8140.03 certification requirements for DoD personnel, meeting the DoD Cyberspace Workforce Framework (DCWF) as applicable, prior to in-processing for performance on the contract Experience in this Discipline: Six (6) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency Functional Responsibility: Design, test, upgrade and integrate new or existing database management systems in accordance with the organization's business requirements. Document all aspects of the engineering process related to build and configuration, testing, and deployment of database management systems. Coordinate changes such as implementation of new database management system platforms, upgrades or version increments with database administrators and stakeholders. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard database management systems and hosted databases. Perform database management system modeling, analysis, and planning. Evaluate new and emerging database management system technologies and make recommendations for selection. Assist database administrators with complex troubleshooting and, if needed, coordinate vendor engagements. May provide day-to-day operational or administrative duties for deployed database management systems in lab or production environments. Ability to plan, design, develop, and modify database structures and administration tools using PL/SQL, Visual Basic, T-SQL or Oracle Forms. Work with other senior technical and user staff to complete projects. Operate with latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions. Level III performs more independent thinking and difficult tasks compared to Level II, and may supervise others. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree and/or equivalency Additional duties
