The Working Environment You Can Expect This position is based out of an office in Nome and will provide general maintenance support for DOT&PF buildings and facilities primarily in Nome but throughout Western District. This position requires occasional field inspections, as well as short duration travel depending on the scope of the reason for travel.

What You Will Be Doing This position performs tasks to construct, troubleshoot, repair and maintain State facilities within the guidelines of current State Statutes and codes in the most efficient and economical manner possible. Through maintenance and repair, protect the Statës building assets, improve structure longevity and provide for safety and comfort of the building occupants and members of the public.

Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, installation, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Problem Solving: Uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.

Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
