What You Will Be Doing The Maintenance Generalist – Journey position is responsible for carrying out the daily work necessary to maintain and operate equipment across all State‑owned buildings at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. This includes work across multiple trades such as carpentry, mechanics, and general repairs, as well as operation and maintenance of HVAC, security, communication, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems. The team maintains 35 State‑owned public facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on airport buildings, systems, and equipment.

Carry out multi‑trade work including carpentry, mechanics, and general repairs.

Operate and maintain HVAC, security, communication, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems.

Support emergency response efforts and coordinate with multiple agencies when needed.

Monitor building automation and life safety systems from the maintenance control room.

Dispatch maintenance personnel and track work progress to keep operations running smoothly.

Enter work documentation and updates into the Airport Information System (AIS) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Retrieve information and assemble reports for supervisors.

Special Note

Must possess a current valid Driver’s License and a 3rd Class Boilerman’s Certificate or eligibility to obtain it.

Incumbent must pass FBI fingerprint and TSA Security Threat Assessment and required criminal history checks per 49 CFR Part 1542 and 19 CFR Part 122.181‑188 if needed.
