More about our team: The Accounting team at the Health Support Center plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance across Lifepoint\'s nationwide network. We focus on collaboration, integrity, and excellence while supporting continuous improvement and transparency in financial operations.
Responsibilities
Manages the monthly balance sheet account reconciliation process for multiple entities across the organization.
Ensures reconciliations are completed accurately and timely, with variances identified, explained, and resolved.
Maintains familiarity with account types and investigates reconciliation variances.
Supports quarterly reviews and annual audits by preparing documentation and providing explanations to internal and external auditors.
Partners closely with Site Liaisons, site CFOs, and LBS Technical Accounting team members to validate balance documentation and ensure proper support.
Observes and enforces internal controls around the balance sheet reconciliation process to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
Conducts balance sheet account analysis to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
Researches and applies new accounting standards and pronouncements as needed.
Assists with special projects and other duties as required to support the Accounting department.
Qualifications and requirements
Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years of accounting experience (preferably in healthcare or hospital industry).
Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and healthcare industry regulations.
Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret and investigate account variances and identify root causes.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation practices.
Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments and with auditors.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred; active license maintained if applicable.
