About the Role As an Inventory and Cost Accountant, you are responsible for supporting the accuracy and integrity of inventory records, preparing key inventory and costing reports, and contributing to the monthly financial close process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze stock trends, investigate discrepancies, and support the execution of inventory controls activities such as cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliations. In addition, you will help maintain standard costs, assist with ERP updates and support audit and compliance requirements, ensuring alignment with company policies and financial standards.

The position will collaborate with operational business leaders to support the growth and profit objectives for the North America region of the Lifestyle Consumer Audio business. The role also supports major corporate and global initiatives. The North America region is headquartered in Northridge, CA with annual revenues of over $1 Billion.

What You Will Do

Monitor current stock levels, identifying discrepancies, and analyzing inventory data to understand trends and potential issues.

Prepare inventory-related reports and dashboards, including inventory aging, turns, cycle count accuracy, excess/obsolete stock and reserves.

Support the implementation of strategies to maintain optimal stock levels, minimize waste, and reduce holding costs.

Track and support execution of cycle counts, physical inventories, and related reconciliation activities.

Monitor monthly inventory transactions and reconciling discrepancies between physical and system records by running sensitive movements reports in SAP.

Identify root causes of inventory variances and work with operations and warehouse teams to implement corrective actions.

Support the evaluation and enhancement of inventory control processes, including documentation and standard operating procedures.

Maintain and update inventory standard cost in coordination with supply chain and global finance teams.

Prepare reports and analysis related to inventory returns.

Prepare refurbish vs. scrapping analysis and support related process improvements.

Support ERP or inventory management system updates, ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.

Prepare reconciliations and journal entries related to inventory and costing accounting.

Support the monthly financial close process and assist the Finance Manager and team with accounting and audit deliverables.

What You Need to Be Successful

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.

1-3 years of relevant finance experience with inventory and costing.

Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, modeling) required.

Accounting skills, including experience with preparing reconciliations, accruals and journal entries.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical, written, verbal and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Points if You Have

Experience with SAP.

Experience in the Consumer Electronics, Consumer Products or related industries.

Knowledge of visualization tools and dashboards.

What Makes You Eligible

Be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel

Be willing to work 3-5 days a month in an office in Northridge, CA
