The Work
The Creative Services Editor/Producer will:
Produce and edit complex graphics and stylized program elements (show opens, teasers, and graphic packages).
Create video content including documentary and long‑form editing for CNN’s digital platforms.
Collaborate closely with writers, producers, and fact‑checkers to develop stories and scripts.
Maintain visual storytelling quality across news and branded formats.
Apply metadata accurately to all media assets.
All assignments must meet CNN’s stringent editorial and journalistic standards and be completed within tight production deadlines.
The Essentials
Established experience working in a professional news or sports production environment.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects, and visual‑effects plug‑ins such as Sapphire, Boris, and Red Giant.
Strong understanding of video production workflow and file‑based editing workflows.
Demonstrated editorial judgment, story pitching, field production, shot selection, and scripting skills.
Capacity for continual technology learning and adaptation in a fast‑paced setting.
Collaborative mindset when attending show meetings, advancing story generation, and conducting video research.
Agile, adaptable, and resilient under changing circumstances.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, technical production, English, political science, history, or equivalent professional experience.
