Job Description This contract supports the
53rd Wing
and
96th Test Wing , both headquartered at
Eglin AFB, FL . The 53rd WTSS team partners with military and civilian personnel to provide IT technical support for the 53 WG and 96 TW missions. The 53rd WTSS IT support covers full lifecycle IT from concept, to deployment, day‑to‑day operations / maintenance, and culminating in system retirement / replacement / upgrade.
Essential Job Functions
Determine hardware, software and systems specifications and configuration requirements.
Execution of the patching, fixing and making all assigned systems compliant.
Planning, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft Hyper V, Microsoft Server 2008 R2, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, client products across multiple networks and network storage.
Provide support to users in the areas of account management, enterprise applications, desktop applications and peripherals.
May work closely with the ISSO for data transfers and media creation.
Facilitate and coordinate user account creation and modification.
Perform other hardware and software tasks as assigned.
Required Skills
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, US Citizenship is required.
A High School Diploma plus 10 years of experience or a Bachelors Degree in related discipline from an accredited college or university plus 8 years of experience is required.
Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility, Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information and a willingness to submit to a counterintelligence polygraph.
DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or higher.
Working technical competency in one or more of the following supported platforms:
Microsoft Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers
MS Hyper‑V / VMware / ESXi / Xen Hypervisors
Enterprise networking/firewalls/intrusion detection/prevention systems
forensic analysis/vulnerability assessment, Group Policy management and configuration
Scripting, BMC Footprints, WSUS, Lumension, Bitlocker, SQL Server 2012, TomCat, IIS, Windows Server 2012 r2/2016, Win 10, Red Hat 6.5, Microsoft Office.
Toolkits, SEIMs, Logrhythm, ACAS/Nessus/SCAP, mandatory/role‑based access control concepts (e.g., SE Linux extensions to RHEL, PitBull, AppArmor, and Sentris), video teleconferencing/VOIP, Oracle/MS SQL database security and Apache/IIS Web server security.
Preferred or Nice‑to‑have Skills
Experience with BMC Footprints, WSUS, Lumension, Bitlocker, SQL Server 2012, TomCat, IIS, and Windows Server 2012 r2/2016.
Knowledge of SEIMs, Logrhythm, ACAS/Nessus/SCAP, and role‑based access control concepts.
Familiarity with video teleconferencing/VOIP, Oracle/MS SQL database security, and Apache/IIS Web server security.
Years of Experience 8-10 years of experience in IT technical support, depending on education level
Industry Experience Experience working in the defense industry, particularly with military and civilian personnel, is required. Familiarity with IT systems and operations in a government or military setting is preferred.
Education Requirements High School Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university
