Base Pay Range $146,600.00/yr - $244,300.00/yr
About the Team The Starbucks iOS application is used by more than 25 million users every month. The iOS engineering team is growing and innovating quickly to deliver the best possible and inclusive experience to our users. As a lead iOS engineer you will drive successful delivery of work, apply deep iOS accessibility knowledge, and help mature team practices to improve our native digital platform.
Responsibilities
Build, iterate, and enhance the Starbucks iOS application.
Champion accessibility and lead the development of accessible features.
Lead the assessment of new projects and features for feasibility, write code for the latest features and important bug fixes.
Improve architecture and code reviews, optimizing existing code for maintainability and testability.
Improve app quality by developing unit tests and automated UI tests.
Evolve and lead team testing practices and philosophy.
Lead vision and strategy, coordinating patterns and best practices with the team.
Mentor partner developers and lead by example.
Lead interview processes and support team growth.
Advise on and help shape technical requirements on various initiatives.
Navigate ambiguity, balancing multiple priorities and fluid requirements to support shared goals for the team, organization, and business.
Qualifications
Extensive software engineering experience on the iOS platform and Apple ecosystem.
6+ years of professional experience developing consumer‑facing iOS mobile applications.
7+ years of software development experience overall.
Experience leading engineering teams and establishing team standards and practices.
Proficient mentoring others and fostering an environment of support and shared growth.
Advanced proficiency with modern mobile architectural patterns (VIPER, MVVM, MVP) and reactive programming.
Extensive experience integrating RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, push notifications, and multi‑threaded applications.
Knowledge of WCAG, Section 508 accessibility standards and international accessibility laws.
Familiarity with Apple’s accessibility features (VoiceOver, Switch Control).
Experience with Core Location services.
Extensive experience writing integration and unit tests, including UI automation and dependency mocking.
Strong Git experience.
Experience with Xcode profiling tools to improve app performance.
Passion for creating accessible products; a CPACC or WAS certification is preferred.
