Benefits: Part‑time faculty receive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long‑term disability, paid sick leave, and may be eligible for full‑time benefits after meeting certain criteria.

Working Schedule: Classes assigned based on need and may fall outside normal business hours.

Required Qualifications

Oregon EMT or higher; or equivalent level of medical practice and certification.

Good standing with the Oregon Health Authority EMS and Trauma Section.

At least one (1) year of experience at EMT level or higher (or equivalent) and at least one (1) year of lead teaching experience in pre‑hospital emergency care courses.

Equivalent teaching experience acceptable when combined with required education and experience.

AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or equivalent.

Oregon EMT license or higher.

Successful completion of a criminal background check and residence in Oregon.

Preferred Qualifications

Current AHA BLS instructor certification or equivalent.

Minimum 3 college credits in adult educational theory or vocational educational theory, or equivalent experience.

AHA ACLS and/or PALS instructor certifications.

Experience at EMT Intermediate level or higher.

Teaching assistant experience in pre‑hospital emergency care courses with a focus on student skill development.

Multilingual or bilingual skills.

Position Purpose The instructor will provide quality learning experiences for Lane Community College students, focusing on courses such as EMT, AEMT, EMT‑I, Paramedic, Communication, and Transportation. The role requires collaboration with the EMS program faculty team.

Essential Functions Student Support and Instruction:

Deliver high‑quality classroom and online instruction.

Create, revise and assess course content and materials.

Maintain curriculum aligned with core outcomes and program standards.

Engage with students, provide feedback, and offer coaching to promote success.

Equity and Inclusion:

Demonstrate respect, inclusiveness and dedication to equity in all interactions.

Assist with ADA compliance and provide accommodations as needed.

Support cultural competency for students and staff.

Professional Development:

Participate in faculty evaluation processes.

Maintain course records, attendance, grades, and FERPA‑compliant documentation.

Update knowledge in EMT‑paramedic and pre‑hospital emergency theory.
