Full Time - Sales Specialist - Appliances - Closing Overview

Your Day at Lowe's Sales Specialists are active in the store or garden center, answer phones, and talk to customers. You will spend most of your time communicating with customers—discussing project needs, answering questions, and helping them achieve home improvement goals. You will become the product expert, informing customers of specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to close a sale. Your consulting helps ensure customer needs are met before leaving the store.

You will be working in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.

Key Responsibilities

Provide SMART customer service by understanding customer needs and communicating the advantages of Lowe's products and services.

Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors within your department; provide project estimates, schedule installer visits, process and track orders/installations, and follow up to ensure project completion.

If in the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.

Monitor inventory levels to support sales, work with vendors and other stores to find merchandise and order replacement stock.

Perform price reviews according to policies and maintain pricing documentation.

Support all checkout functions, call buttons, departmental pages, or requests for assistance.

Train associates in the department by on-the-job training on the Sales floor and coaching around development needs.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

1 year experience in customer-facing sales or 6 months of Lowe’s retail experience (or 3 years external customer-facing sales or 18 months Lowe’s retail if education requirement is not met)

1 year of experience in sales or customer service in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics

Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)

Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods

Minimum lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without accommodation

Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law (Lowe's will support and fund this requirement)

Preferred Qualifications

1 year of experience completing customer sales orders

1 year promoting product-related services and plans (installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plan)

2 years designing customized products for customers using 20/20 or CAD systems

Professional certification related to the department

Travel and Working Conditions This role does not require regular travel but may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores. Working conditions vary by location and may include inside and outside environments, exposure to varying climates and noises. Lifting guidelines: single lifts up to 75 pounds; team lifts when needed; powered equipment with proper training.

Pay Range: $17.00 - $17.70 per hour.
