The University of South Florida Department of Athletics is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Athletics Research and Statistics to join its communications and data operations team. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the department's statistical, historical, and digital records while helping to preserve and promote the legacy of USF Athletics.

Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required for event coverage.

Strong proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Suite programs, working knowledge of NCAA Live Stats, StatCrew, Clipped, and ITA stat systems, comprehensive understanding of NCAA rules and statistical procedures are preferred for this position. Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills are also preferred.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in communications, sport management, statistics, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience in website management and content maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a collegiate athletic communications, research, or statistics office.

Familiarity with SIDEARM Sports (or similar CMS) web management platforms.

Experience leading or supervising stat crews during live competition.

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements

A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:

(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;

(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;

(c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;

(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or

(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree

Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and update the USF Athletics website, ensuring that team schedules, student‑athlete bios, statistics, record books, media guides, game notes, and other historical materials are current and accurate.

Supervise and coordinate live stat crews for assigned sports during home events.

Serve as a liaison between sport programs, communications, and technology staff to ensure accuracy and consistency across all statistical outputs.

Manage website content and troubleshoot site‑related issues in collaboration with the department's digital and communications teams.

Utilize Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Suite applications to design and produce media materials, record books, and other publications.

Ensure statistical accuracy and compliance with NCAA and conference rules and standards.

Maintain familiarity with and proficiency in stat programs, including NCAA Live Stats, StatCrew, Clipped (golf), and ITA software (tennis).

Assist in the research, archiving, and documentation of historical USF Athletics data and records.
