Position Summary The inside sales representative acts as a key communicator between the outside sales team, the customers, and other internal stakeholders for business-to-business sales. They are responsible for reviewing customer orders, obtaining current pricing and lead times, and working in SAP to carry out daily processing activities. This position will work in our Industrial applications group.
Qualifications
2 years’ experience in customer service, sales support and/or inside sales experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
4-year college degree in a technical field or business-sales/marketing preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Professional-strength interpersonal skills to maintain healthy relationships with customer base.
Proficient in Office 365; exposure to SAP and CRM systems preferred.
Ability to understand how the quoting process works, how margins are calculated, and consider stock levels and lead times.
General aptitude and attitude to learn new concepts.
Occasional overnight travel for customer relations or training.
Essential Job Functions
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers, ensuring the best possible customer satisfaction.
Examine and respond to all customer inquiries, quote requests and complaints.
Communicate via phone and email with customers such as quote follow-up, quote inquiries, order processing, or other order related questions.
Enter order data into SAP and other systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Provide inside and outside sales support as determined by the Inside Sales Team Leader in conjunction with other Sales Management.
Coordinate customer requests with manufacturing and procurement’s capabilities/capacities.
Coordinate special projects, such as data analysis or reporting, identified by the Sales Team Leader in conjunction with other Sales Management.
Prepare all assigned reports and correspondence accurately and in a timely manner.
Development Summary The Industrial Inside Sales position requires specific knowledge that would be refined through a comprehensive training program within Schunk. The success of the position is dependent on the applicant gaining an understanding of many aspects of the Industrial manufacturing and procurement processes, the product marketplace, technical features of the product lines, the Schunk business system structure and how these elements all interact.
