We are seeking a results-driven Inside Sales Manager to lead and develop our inside sales and customer service operations. This role manages a skilled team responsible for handling customer inquiries, generating quotes, processing orders, and ensuring a seamless customer experience from initial contact through delivery. The manager will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and field sales teams to provide technical solutions and drive business growth. The position oversees all customer communication, order processing, quoting, forecasting, and feedback. Responsibilities include order entry on new and existing orders via PK, Pipedrive, and Order Book updates. Essential functions include: Principal Areas of Responsibility
Manage and track all customer communications, ensuring each is titled with the part number in the subject line. Download and review all company communications daily through CRM software Pipedrive. Monitor and communicate schedule changes made by customers, coordinating with the site leader and ensuring customer approval before firm changes. Manage customer update calls supported by email, with part number in the subject line and copies to responsible parties. Identify and document issues with customers or the company, with specific action items and owners, confirmed resolved via CRM. Manage quote requests with timely coordination through department managers, ensuring quotes are provided at least 24 hours before deadlines. No quotes should be marked as “no bid” without managerial approval. Follow up weekly with your manager. Monitor customer forecasts, delivery metrics, and strategies, reporting any changes for approval. Contribute to product development input, manage quote requests, and handle extension requests with managerial approval. Manage the customer portal daily, updating promise dates and part/kit status, with changes approved prior to implementation. Maintain the Kanban list in the order book. Oversee delivery status calls, promise dates, and schedule adjustments, reviewing weekly with site leadership. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field, or equivalent industry experience. Work Experience:
5+ years in inside sales or customer service within an industrial manufacturing environment; 2+ years in leadership or team management. Physical and Mental Demands:
Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, and knowledge of gear manufacturing or related fields are a plus. Must handle confidential information, demonstrate analytical and reasoning skills, and work efficiently with high energy and professionalism. Ability to make confident decisions and work independently is essential.
