Overview The Florida Department of Health in Putnam County is seeking an experienced Dentist to provide comprehensive dental care to pediatric and adult patients, including preventive, restorative, and surgical services. The role reports directly to the Putnam County Director of Nursing, Clinical and Dental Services and oversees the daily operations of the Dental Clinic.
Responsibilities The dentist is responsible for:
Clinical care: perform examinations, diagnostics, radiology, preventive and restorative treatment, extractions, and surgical procedures while maintaining high quality standards and adhering to state and ADA guidelines.
Leadership: provide professional instruction to clinical staff, conduct case reviews, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Clinical operations: coordinate clinic workflow, manage equipment and supplies, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
Community outreach: develop and promote community and school-based dental programs, collaborate with local specialists, and facilitate care for Medicaid and indigent patients.
Administrative duties: update program policies, attend trainings, perform audits, and report to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Minimum: Licensure as a Dentist with pediatric experience; Department of Health experience.
Preferred: Proficiency in Eaglesoft dental software.
