We are seeking a State Treasury Fiscal Control Analyst to join our team. The Fiscal Control Analyst will provide advanced financial analysis and control functions within the Treasury. This role involves reviewing, reconciling, and monitoring complex fiscal transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. On a typical day, the analyst will prepare and analyze financial reports, review funding requests, track appropriations, and reconcile bank statements or account balances. They will also research and resolve discrepancies, recommend process improvements, and provide technical guidance on fiscal policies.
Qualifications (Education and Experience)
Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in any one or combination of accounting, economics, finance, or statistics; OR A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in any one or combination of accounting, economics, finance, or statistics; OR A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics; OR An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Job Duties
Perform budgeting, accounting and programmatic review Examine cooperative endeavor agreements (CEAs) Audit and approve budget revisions, modifications to goals and objectives Analyze and audit cost reports and supporting documentation for CEAs Prepare updated status reports for those entities with CEAs that are expired Communicate on a daily basis with state legislators, mayors, police jury presidents, treasurers or other finance administrators and business executives regarding budgeting and performance-based reporting Respond to audit confirmation requests and prepare schedules for auditors Provide instruction and assistance to local government recipients

There is a special entrance rate (SER) for the State Treasury Fiscal Control Analyst 1 at Treasury: State Treasury Fiscal Control Analyst 1: $19.87/hour ($1,589.60 biweekly).
Pay Note:
The maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title and NOT the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire. The actual starting salary depends on the qualifications of the selected applicant.
Appointment Type:
Probational, Promotional, Job Appointment or Detail to Special Duty. If filled as a probational appointment, this position requires the selected applicant to serve a minimum probationary period of twelve (12) months. Current permanent status classified employees may be required to accept a probational appointment in lieu of promotion if selected. If filled as a Job Appointment, there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a probational appointment should funding become available. Additional Vacancies may be filled from this announcement within 90 days of the closing date.
